Brass in Chocolate

Brass in Chocolate is exactly as rich as it sounds. Deep, warm cabinetry sets the ground, and metal is used as jewellery against it — sparingly, and always where the hand goes.
Dark kitchens live or die on light and proportion. Here the tonal depth is balanced by generous bench area and clean horizontal lines, so the room reads as enveloping rather than heavy.
The detailing rewards a second look: the way edges are handled, the restraint in hardware, the discipline of keeping the visual field uncluttered so the material can be the event.
It is a confident piece of work, and confidence in a kitchen usually comes down to knowing what to leave out.
