Bruntwood Homestead answers to an older building. The kitchen has been designed to sit inside the character of the house rather than argue with it, and the proportions follow suit.
Traditional cues — framed detail, a substantial island, a clear working core — have been paired with the storage and appliance planning a modern household actually needs.
Scale is the quiet achievement. Rooms in homesteads are large, and this one has been filled without being crowded: benches are long, the island is properly sized, and nothing feels borrowed from a smaller plan.
The palette stays soft and rural, letting timber, painted joinery and stone carry the warmth that the room needs on a grey day.
