Coastal View No 7 is planned around what is outside the window. The kitchen keeps its head down so the view can be the loudest thing in the room.

Low horizontal lines dominate. Wall cabinetry has been minimised or absorbed, and storage has been pushed into tall runs and deep drawers where it will not interrupt the outlook.

The palette is cool and marine without being literal, and the surfaces have been chosen for a coastal house — forgiving, durable, and easy to keep looking right.

Everything about the working plan is conventional in the best sense: the cook has a clean run, and the household has somewhere to stand that is not in the way.
