Dry River Residence has a rural steadiness to it. The kitchen is robust, plainly detailed, and built to be worked in rather than admired from a distance.

Material choices lean earthy — grounded tones, honest surfaces, texture that will take a knock. It is a palette that suits a house with a paddock somewhere near it.

The plan is efficient. Storage sits where it is used, the sink and heat zones are properly separated, and the island offers real bench area rather than a decorative slab.

Restraint keeps it elegant. There is no ornament to speak of; the interest comes from proportion, material and the way the light falls across a long bench.
