Timber and neutral tones set the mood, with darker elements used to ground the composition rather than to make a statement.
The island does double duty as a prep bench and a place to sit, and it has been sized properly for both, which is rarer than it should be.
Storage is deep and practical, and the appliance planning keeps the working mess contained to one zone so the rest of the room stays presentable.
