Cashmere Terrace House gives a retired couple a kitchen with the presence of an old-world drawing room and the function of a modern one. Rich timber, tall cabinetry and a substantial island were all part of the brief, with a clear wish for a room that could become the heart of a classically styled home.
Fixed plumbing and hob positions set the framework, but the plan pushes the scale as far as it can. A curved entry makes a gracious arrival, while more curves soften the joinery around the hob and lead into the scullery. It is a kitchen that enjoys a little grandeur, but puts every part of it to work.
