Project story

Obsidian Gold was designed as the social centre of a new family home for an architect, his wife and their child. The brief asked for a kitchen that could host friends, support everyday cooking and sit quietly within the architecture, rather than compete with it. Concealed working areas, integrated appliances and generous storage keep the room composed when the day is busy.

The palette is restrained, but the planning is generous. Every decision was measured against the wider house: clean lines, carefully selected materials and a sense of ease for the family using it. It is a kitchen that feels architectural without losing the warmth needed for daily life and long evenings around the island.
