Project story
Raw Precision responds to the angular architecture of a Wanaka home with a kitchen that is just as clear in its lines. The plan had to accommodate several users, visiting adult children, three dogs and far-reaching views, while keeping the surfaces and sightlines controlled.
Matte black melamine, organic Corian, industrial porcelain and honey-oak detailing create a palette that is raw but carefully balanced. An angled, battened element above the hob continues the language of the house, while the island handles preparation, dining, storage and the view. It is a kitchen where the harder-working elements are resolved with a quiet sense of theatre.
Judges’ comment
This is a beautifully designed and documented kitchen that responds thoughtfully to the home's architecture. The proportions work extremely well within the challenging angles, while the material palette, batten details and scullery connection feel cohesive and refined. The result is a highly resolved kitchen with strong technical execution.
