Project story
Defying Gravity rethinks a window seat as the social centre of a room. The owner wanted a generous place for family meals and dinner parties, strong enough for a crowd but still comfortable enough to stretch out with a coffee and a magazine. The view over Pegasus Bay had to remain part of the experience.
The upholstered seating brings daylight in above, below and through the composition, while practical fabric keeps the piece useful for real life. It works as dining, lounging and a place to gather, proving that a built-in seat can carry more than one kind of occasion.
