The cabinetry rises to ceiling height, using the volume of the room to create grandeur rather than clutter. Aged brass detailing brings warmth and a lived-in patina, softening the darker palette and tying the space back to the heritage language of the home. It is not a reproduction kitchen, but it knows where it lives.

The island was pushed as large as the space would sensibly allow, because this was never just about a cooking zone. It needed to be a gathering point for three older children returning home, cooking together and moving easily through the room. The materials had to work just as hard: durable, easy to maintain and capable of carrying a sense of luxury without blowing the budget.

That balance shows in the mix of Dekton porcelain, Mont Blanc quartzite and fluted marble mosaic tiles - the latter delivering texture and richness without the cost of full stone. Integrated LED lighting lifts the cabinetry and lets the mood shift from bright family kitchen to something softer after dark.

There is also a tender piece of planning in the retained desk position, now reworked as a light-filled workspace with a place beneath for the family’s blind dog. That detail says a lot. This is a kitchen with polish, yes, but also memory.
