Project story

Set against lake and mountain views in Wānaka, Lakeside reconsiders the kitchen as a place for the family to gather as much as prepare food. The renovation was guided by the way the owners use their holiday home: relaxed entertaining, shared meals and time spent lingering around the room rather than moving through it.

A carefully planned L-shaped layout brings kitchen and dining together, while a much-loved blue booth seat becomes part of the new composition. The workspace remains clear and practical, leaving the surrounding views and conversation to do the rest.
