Lakeside Retreat refreshes a master ensuite without losing the architectural decisions that already made sense. The existing long steel shelf, heated towel rail, private WC enclosure and bath position were retained, allowing the renovation to focus on material, form and a more resolved daily experience.

A darker palette and strong geometric detailing give the bathroom a refined, masculine character that sits comfortably within the lakeside home. The layout feels familiar but newly purposeful: a good example of how keeping the right elements can make a renovation feel more considered, not less ambitious.

Judges’ comment

Strong planning and thoughtful detailing give this hotel-like bathroom a highly resolved sense of identity. Practical storage, a masculine vanity, and restrained fixtures are carefully balanced within a luxurious, functional layout. A warm, moody, well-balanced space that maximises functionality and meets the brief beautifully.
