Project story
The Hanger gives one half of a young family’s bedroom a wardrobe of his own. With the existing walk-in wardrobe already claimed, the brief became about creating storage that felt practical, individual and properly integrated into the room rather than simply added to it.
Set above Wellington Airport, the project takes its name from both the outlook to the aircraft hangars and the everyday act of hanging clothes. The resulting joinery gives movement, storage and dressing a more fluid rhythm. It is a small intervention with a clear sense of place and a useful dose of personality.
