Project story
Timeless Glamour brings a little ceremony to the powder room. The brief asked for delight and surprise, but within the traditional character of the house, so the room is built around a bespoke vanity that feels more like a piece of furniture than a standard fixture.
Turned timber legs, solid rails, open shelves and profiled joinery give the vanity its washstand character. A marble top with a double-ogee edge continues up the wall as an upstand, adding depth without overworking the room. The WC remains discreet beside the main view, leaving the vanity to set the tone on arrival.
Judges’ comment
With its feature wallpaper taking centre stage, this powder room creates a memorable guest experience. The custom washstand, dark wall panelling, stone detailing, delicate sconces and beautiful floor tiles add depth and elegance, giving this powder room strong visual impact while still feeling timeless, considered and true to the home's traditional character.
